The story of a thousand hills begins in Kigali in 2008 between Antoinette, a Rwandan seamstress and Ines, a Spanish student. They shared a conviction that the union of talents would lead to the creation of products in Africa. Antoinette opened her workshop in Inès so that she could create a first collection of clothes.
In 2009, the brand was co-founded by Marc and Ines.
The Thousand Hills Journey was unique as it took us through Rwanda, Kenya and South Africa. This is one of the defining characteristics of the brands - Mille Collines is based in Cape Town, and we produce between Rwanda, Kenya and South Africa. What has remained constant is our commitment to only produce our products in Africa.
By emphasizing traditional craftsmanship combined with unexpected materials, Thousand Hills believes in honoring artisans and celebrating African inspiration and heritage.
