The story of a thousand hills begins in Kigali in 2008 between Antoinette, a Rwandan seamstress and Ines, a Spanish student. They shared a conviction that the union of talents would lead to the creation of products in Africa. Antoinette opened her workshop in Inès so that she could create a first collection of clothes.

In 2009, the brand was co-founded by Marc and Ines.

The journey of a thousand hills was unique, as it took us through Rwanda, Kenya and South Africa. This is one of the brands defining characteristics – Mille Collines is based in Cape Town, and we produce between Rwanda, Kenya and South Africa. What has remained constant is our commitment to only produce our products in Africa.
